Lavender Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- [1 1/2 to 2 ]cups cups all-purpose flour
- [3/4 cup to 1 ¼] cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon dried lavender buds, culinary grade
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Using a mortar and pestle, grind the lavender buds with 1 tablespoon of the measured sugar.
- Cream the butter, sugar, lavender, and vanilla together in a bowlAdd the egg and mix well.
- Add in the lemon juice, salt, baking powder. MixSlowly mix in the flour until correct consistency.

Form the dough into balls and place in the refrigerator. Chill for at least 30 minutes or up to 3 days.
- To bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Bake chilled dough on non stick cookie sheet for 10 to 15 minutes minutes or until done. ( cookies are fragrant and edges turn light golden brown).
